Jon Dennis: Head of Climate and Nature, Sustainable Finance, Finance Innovation Lab (September 2024)

Rebecca Self, of Seawolf Sustainability Consulting, was a sustainable finance consultant; supporting the Finance Innovation Lab during 2023. This was a part time consulting contract covering 40 days. Rebecca’s supported the delivery of the ‘Climate Safe Lending Fellowship’, a leadership and development programme supporting 18 global bankers – from a variety of institution sizes – in creating a sustainability ‘critical shift’ within their banks.

The critical shifts included areas such as setting up new climate transition risk frameworks, creating new internal sustainability training for customer relationship managers and creating/reviewing new ESG (environmental, social governance) metrics.

Rebecca Self authored a public report at the conclusion of the consulting contract, available here: https://financeinnovationlab.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/CSLN-Shifting-The-Banking-System-Report-09.23.pdf providing key insights for banks and banking professionals leading climate action. Finance Innovation Lab were very satisfied with Rebecca’s work which provided a deep understanding and wider contextual knowledge about the banking industry globally, including Asia. We look forward to future work with Rebecca and regard her highly for consultant work.
