Conservation Finance 2021: An Unfolding Opportunity

Conservation Finance 2021: An Unfolding Opportunity

This report is a collaboration between South Pole, the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability, and IUCN, with support from American Bird Conservancy and the Global Environment Facility.

Based on a survey conducted with project developers and investors, the report provides a picture of what typical return-seeking conservation investments look like, as well as examples of viable or promising conservation projects with the potential to be scaled and replicated. The report also explores what the remaining barriers are to unlock further investment in nature, how conservation impacts are measured and reported, and trends that will shape the sector in the next few years. Join us for a presentation of the key findings by John Tobin de-la Puente, (Cornell University) and a panel discussion between senior members of the finance industry moderated by Rebecca Self (South Pole) on how they see the conservation market evolving.
